Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Texans reached the NFL's 53-man roster limit on Saturday by releasing 22 players, including a former second- round pick, cornerback Brandon Harris.
The disappointing Harris, the 60th overall pick in 2011 out of the University of Miami, never even started a game during his three years in south Texas.
Houston also released kicker Chris Boswell, tight ends Zach Potter and Anthony Denham, safety Jawanza Starling, fullback Toben Opurum, wide receiver Travis Labhart, offensive tackles Mike Farrell and Matt Feiler, outside linebackers Quentin Groves and Chris McAllister, wide receivers E.Z. Nwachukwu and Lacoltan Bester, guards Alex Kupper and Bronson Irwin, center James Ferentz, nose tackle Ricardo Mathews, inside linebackers Max Bullough and Chris Young, cornerback Marcus Williams and defensive ends Keith Browner and Julius Warmsley.
Meanwhile, the team reached an injury settlement with linebacker Paul Hazel and released him off injured reserve.
