LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Head Baseball Coach Larry Hays announced today the signing of nine student-athletes who will enroll at Texas Tech in the fall of 2007.
For the first time in his tenure at Texas Tech, Hays signed just one position player with the rest of the class being devoted to the pitching mound. Of Tech's nine signed players for 2008, eight of them are pitchers.
"Our main emphasis for this class from the start has been pitching," said Hays. "We know that at the end of this year, we could stand to lose a lot on the mound and we really feel like these guys can come in here and help us. This group is mixed with older and younger players who have a lot of talent. We are pleased to have them."
