AMARILLO, TX - On Tuesday, a Tennessee Highway Patrol Officer pulled over Rosa A. Flores, 29, of Amarillo on Interstate 40 for following too closely to another vehicle. During the stop, THP said officers discovered 153 pounds of marijuana.
An officer noticed several inconsistencies with Flores’ statements and requested a drug dog. THP said during the search, the K-9 made a positive hit on the vehicle.
Officers found the marijuana wrapped in cellophane that was also rubbed in axle grease. The marijuana was located within hidden compartments of the door panels and seatbacks of the vehicle.
THP said Flores was traveling with three children ages 5, 9 and 12. The children were released into DCS custody.
