The Salvation Army of Lubbock is currently accepting donations of new and gently used clothing and household items for those affected by Monday's Oak Creek Apartment fire. They also say things like shampoo, soap, etc are good for those staying in temporary shelters.

Donations can be dropped off at their Family Services center at 1614 Avenue J, Lubbock.

If you'd like to donate to the American Red Cross, log onto and click on "Donate." From there you can make a donation to the Local Disaster Relief Fund and specify the South Plains Regional Chapter.

You can also donate to their general Disaster Relief Fund by texting "red cross" to 90999.

If you have any questions, you can contact the Lubbock Salvation Army at (806) 765-9434 or Red Cross, South Plains chapter at (806) 765-8534.
