Aliens Return, Teens Fall in Love, and Comic Book Fun Is Coming

Entertainment Thursday 5/18/2017

Lubbock, TX - The ship is named Covenant. The crew is bound for another planet, but discover an uncharted paradise. Or is it? Ridley Scott retakes the reigns of the Alien franchise, and the result will be terrifying. Alien: Covenant is rated R and runs two hours. You can start the nightmares all over again at the Alamo Drafthouse and every other Lubbock movie theater.

A teenage girl has an extreme immunodeficiency, so bad she can't even leave the house: she's allergic to Everything, Everything. Her life-in-a-bubble changes when she starts chatting to the boy next door. It's rated PG-13 and it's adapted from the young adult novel of the same name. The romance lasts about an hour and a half. Take a date to the Alamo Drafthouse or Movies 16.

If you're into cosplay, gaming, sci-fi, comics books and anime... hit the Civic Center next  weekend for Lubbock-Con 2017. It's a two-day convention, with several special guests and dozens of vendors. Again, that's next Saturday and Sunday, the 27th and 28th. You can get your $15 general admission tickets now through Select-a-Seat.

That's a look at what's happening in the Hub City, with Joe Sherwood's Entertainment Thursday!
