(LUBBOCK, TX) - The Red Cross is helping another Lubbock family after an overnight fire.

The family wasn't home when the fire started.

It happened shortly after 1:00 Friday morning, in the 3700 block of 28th Street.

When fire crews arrived, they found smoke pouring from the home.

Firefighters spent about an hour trying to put out the flames because of a hot spot.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It's been a busy week for the Red Cross.

The non-profit was called to assist three other families on Thursday.
