LUBBOCK, TX-- The Children's Advocacy Center of the South Plains invited the Lubbock community to join together and "Stand up for Kids" at a unique child abuse awareness event sponsored by Suddenlink Saturday at Leroy Elmore Park.

Folks filled the park to create a living representation of the 525 of children who received services from the agency in 2013.

This event is meant to focus attention on the overwhelming number of children who are abused each day in Lubbock and across the South Plains area.

It is also about celebrating the "courage of one" demonstrated every day by children who tell their story and the adults who report abuse.
