Fire Marshal Investigates Structure Fire in Central Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX --  Emergency crews responded to a structure fire call at 38th street and Hartford avenue around 7:15pm Monday. Police closed off portions of Hartford Avenue to traffic while crews worked to extinguish the blaze located in a metal garage behind a home. Crews managed to put out the fire within the hour.

According to witnesses the fire started with an explosion. No one was injured. The fire destroyed a car, a motorcycle and a trailer stored in the building. The Fire Marshal has not determined a cause and continues to investigate.
