LUBBOCK,TX-Just after 9 o’clock Sunday night, Megan Harbour was cooking dinner in her kitchen, when she heard a loud crash.

“We ran outside to check what it is and a car is smashed inside of our garage,” Harbour said.

A former Lubbock police officer crashed his silver Nissan into the garage of Harbour’s south Lubbock home, sending her fiancé’s pick-up truck sailing into their laundry room.

“He was drunk driving,” Harbour said. “Coming down this street [Utica], no stop, no nothing. He just crashed into our house.”

The driver is 43 year old Mark Puckett.

Harbour said he tried to flee the scene, but her fiancé caught up with him.

Puckett was arrested and charged with intoxicated assault and failure to stop and render aide.

“I could smell it and I wasn’t even right there by him,” Harbour said.

LPD officials said Puckett resigned from the department about a week before the accident.

This isn’t the first time this has happened, it's the third.

“This intersection, with my kids, its just not safe,” Harbour said.

Harbour said she has called the city before, with no replies, and now she wants the city to do something, or she needs to move.

“I just want the city to listen and understand, realize that there is a problem here,” Harbour said. “There’s dips all along Utica, but i promise you it does not slow people down.”
