LUBBOCK, TX - An employee of Frenship Independent School District resigned after what officials called "inappropriate communication" between the employee and a student.
District officials said administration was notified of the allegations on Friday, March 3. A statement from Frenship ISD said the employee was questioned that day and submitted a resignation letter later that afternoon.
"We immediately shared our findings with the proper authorities for further investigation," a district spokesperson said.
"Frenship ISD takes the responsibility of fostering a supportive and safe learning environment for our students very seriously," the district said in a statement. "We hold our employees responsible for their public conduct even when they are not on active duty as district employees. Behavior that violates our standards is unacceptable."
The district has not identified the staff member or student involved in the allegations.
