Tracy Baugh, Home Instead Senior Care owner, created the website www.caregiverstress.com with her team to get information to caregivers who might feel burnt out.
"It has information on a variety of topics including nutrition, financial information...and we have resources including downloadable materials. There's an online workshop for both families and professionals where they can access those materials anytime 24 hours a day, absolutely free."
Even if you don't know exactly what you are looking for, Home Instead Senior Care has professionals who can help.
"Also you can contact a Masters or PhD level social worker on our hotline 24 hours a day if you just need to talk to someone and say 'Where do I start? Where do I go from here?'"
There are warning signs you can look for with distressed caregivers.
"If they're missing appointments, they haven't seen the dentist in several years, they're starting to have sleep disturbances, they're finding that they're more irritable than usual, maybe their appetite has changed. There are physical signs and emotional signs also."
You can visit www.caregiverstress.com for information or you can stop by their office at 1010 Slide Road. You can also call (806) 281-4663.
