BROWNFIELD, TX -- A chemical leak Friday morning in Brownfield forced several people to evacuate.
Chief of Police Tony Serbantez said the hydrochloric acid spill was discovered around 6:45 a.m. coming off a rail car.
It happened at a railroad yard on the 200 block of North 7th Street in Brownfield.
Serbantez said Wolfforth hazmat crews were called to the scene as a precaution and several people were evacuated from the area.
The leak was quickly contained and Serbantez said no one was hurt.
