LUBBOCK, TX—The Imagine Lubbock Steering Committee will hold a meeting tonight to get feedback on their progress and future plans regarding their efforts to revamp and clean up the city.

The meeting will be from 5:30pm – 7pm at the studios at 5th Street and Avenue J and the public is invited.

A presentation and discussion will take place on the eight key elements of their future plans which potentially include new bike paths, new road signs and a resurrection of neighborhood watch programs to keep neighborhoods safe.

Connie Wharton, Imagine Lubbock Steering Committee Chairwoman, said having the opportunity to give input is beneficial for not only the citizens, but the entire community.

“We are stewards of what people have said they wanted to see,” said Wharton.  “So it is really about the realization of the dreams that people have for their city.”

Since announcing their plans last July, the committee has already helped with the revitalization process downtown and creating a new performing arts center.
