Leach's Lawyer Files Motion In Court

Leach's lawyer filed what's called a motion for expedited discovery, which is part of his lawsuit against Texas Tech for his wrongful termination.  Basically they are trying to get depositions, documents, emails, anything from Texas Tech relating to his termination and they want it done quickly.  The documents said Coach Leach would be harmed by any delay in getting the facts regarding his termination.  This is what Liggett had to say at the court house Thursday.

"We're not going to have a comment to make today in regards to these filings.  We talked the day Mike was dismissed and said there would be further action taken and the pleadings that are being filed today speak for themselves."

Leach claimed that on December 30th he was wrongfully terminated by the University.  He said Tech has given conflicting statements about the basis for terminating him, which casts doubts about their motives for doing so.  They claimed Chancellor Kent Hance said he wanted to solve the problem and can't believe this happened, but two days later three current and former members of the school's Boards of Regents said the firing was largely the result of ill will left over from the heated contract negotiations early last year.

The document is more than 100 pages long, but you can see them all on our website everythinglubbock.com
