Lubbock police are still looking for answers in a decades old murder mystery.

Barbara Hinojosa was found strangled and stabbed in her East Lubbock home on October 12th, 1991.

Two years ago, the Lubbock P.D. Crimeline received an anonymous call with details crucial to the case.

"That little bit of information this person gave us did lend to tracking down who had entered the home and committed the homicide," according Sgt. Jason Lewis.

Lewis says the tip came mere days after the 20th anniversary of Hinojosa's death, after police had reached out through local media, asking for information. They're hoping that strategy works again.

"I'm trying to appeal to that person again, anonymously," Lewis says. "I want you to call Detective Rey Martinez, his number is 775-2405, and you can remain anonymous. The information that you gave two years ago almost today was very, very helpful. We need to get some justice for this family and take care of this."

Hinojosa's murder is just one of 32 unsolved cases here in Lubbock since 1980.

Anyone with any information at all is asked to contact Detective Martinez. Police say there's a $1,000 reward for anyone who brings forward information that leads to pressed charges.
