Missing Elderly Woman Found, Returned Safely to Family

LUBBOCK, TX -- Lubbock Police found, Bettye McWilliams, 72, Thursday morning after she had gone missing.  

A written statement said, “Patrol officers discovered Bettye McWilliams had been placed in a taxi and driven to a hotel in Lubbock.”

“Bettye has been returned to her family,” the statement said.
Earlier in the day, police issued the following statement:

Bettye Jane McWilliams xx/xx/1942 last seen June 3, 2014 in Big Spring, Texas at 10:00 p.m. getting on a Grey Hound bus in route to Lubbock.


The bus arrived in Lubbock June 4, 2014 at 12:30 a.m. without Bettye McWilliams.


Bettye is a white female, 5'5", 125 pounds with gray hair and hazel eyes.


She was last seen wearing a white blouse with a blue pattern, white pants and a brown jacket with a cat print.


We believe Bettye may be in danger and possibly lost and confused.
