LUBBOCK,TX- Another Lubbock business is in trouble for selling synthetic marijuana.

The Lubbock District Attorney's office executed a search warrant Tuesday morning at the Elemental Trading Company on the 7000 block of University.

After searching the shop, investigators uncovered and confiscated 'several packages' of synthetic marijuana.

Investigators said they do not know yet how much the product was worth and would not give specifics on how much they actually collected.

No one was arrested.

The shop closed for a while, but was re-opened a little later.

The shop had no comment.

On June 6, District Attorney Matt Powell hand delivered a letter to more than 50 shops across Lubbock.

The letter notifies businesses about Lubbock's new regulations regarding synthetic pot.
Because synthetic marijuana does not include a list of ingredients on its packaging, it violates Texas Penal Code and is considered a Deceptive Business Practice.

Also, if a person is seriously injured or killed while on synthetic marijuana, the store owner who sold them the product could be held responsible.

The D.A.'s office said both actions were put into place to deter businesses from selling synthetic pot.
