LUBBOCK, TX -- Lubbock police released more information and the audio from a 9-1-1 call concerning the Sunday night stabbing that left Elizabeth Garcia, 28, in critical condition.

An official statement said officers “found the victim in her apartment with multiple stab wounds to her torso and head.”

Police said Juan Gilberto Mora, 32, is the suspect. A “wanted” poster described Mora as “armed and dangerous.” It also described him as 6’2” tall and 303 pounds. Mora’s most recent jail booking sheet lists his address as the Toledo Court Apartments, the same location as the stabbing.

“The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived,” a police statement said.

The audio of the 9-1-1 call starts with an operator saying, “What’s your emergency?” and a caller responding, “I think she’s dead.”

“We need an ambulance,” the caller continued. “She’s got something stuck in her head and she’s bleeding.”

As of late Monday afternoon the search for Mora continued. Anyone with information can call the police at 806-775‐2427 or Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
