LUBBOCK,TX- Have you ever gone for a walk and gotten a little spooked?

It happens to people all the time, even during the day time; but a lot of the time, that fear grows exponentially at night.

But have no fear, a new website is here to help curb the worry.

Kitestring is the newest tool to staying safe.

The website can be accessed by any smart phone as long as you can connect to the internet.

There, you insert the contact information of your emergency contact and customize the message you want it to send, then pick a time.

For example: I can set a time of 45 minutes, and if I do not answer the text Kitestring sends me, it will contact my fiance with a message saying, "Hey, it's Meredith, I did not get home safely from my walk at Makenzie Park. If you received this message please call 911."

The message sends 5 minutes after the first missed text, giving first responders plenty of time to help track you down.
