LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech shortstop Tim Proudfoot and right-handed pitcher Dominic Moreno will return for their senior seasons after deciding not to sign professional contracts.

Both players announced their decision on Twitter shortly after today's 4 p.m. deadline.

Proudfoot was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 21st round (No. 642 overall) and the St. Louis Cardinals selected Moreno in the 33rd round (No. 1,005 overall).

It's the first time in school history that a pair of Red Raiders have returned after being drafted.

Three signees also chose Texas Tech over the pros.  Right-handed pitcher Quinn Carpenter (Iowa Western CC), catcher Kholeton Sanchez (New Mexico JC) and right-handed pitcher/outfielder Patrick Mahomes will all join the Red Raider program this fall.
