LUBBOCK, TX -- On Monday Lubbock Police ruled the death of a little girl as accidental. Police did not release the name or specific details of her death. The family said the girl accidentally asphyxiated herself with a curtain string.

Police were called to a home in the 4600 block of 42nd Street on Saturday. A police report said an incident happened between 2:30 and 6:10 p.m., but a spokesman said police were called just after 5:00 p.m.  Neither the report nor the spokesman were more specific.

A written statement from police Monday afternoon said, “Juvenile detectives have conducted an investigation and determined the death to be accidental.”
