Texans Remain Perfect; Advance at NJCAA Tourney

South Plains survived in the first round of the NJCAA National Tournament beating East Mississippi, 71-63.

The Texans trailed 36-29 at the halftime but opened the second half with an 8-0 run to take the lead.

Stanton Kidd led the Texans with a game-high 20 points in the win.

South Plains (33-0) advances to face the Monroe College/Indian Hills Community College winner Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Hutchinson, Kansas.
