A lot of Texas Tech alums are letting the university know how they feel about Mike Leach being fired.

The Alumni Association's spent all day answering e-mails and phone calls from angry alums - many of them wanting to cancel their memberships. Turns out membership dues go to academic departments - not the football team - and the Alumni Association's doing all they can to keep contributions to Tech academics strong.

"Those people in that academic department didn't have anything to do with this. They're trying to raise money because the Legislature doesn't provide us with all the money we need to build an excellent program in your major, and you're not going to solve any problems by failing to support that because of an athletic problem," says Executive Vice President for the Alumni Association Dr. Bill Dean.

Dr. Dean's answered almost 300 e-mails from alums already.
