LUBBOCK,TX- Texas Tech University and Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt unveiled a new capital campaign for athletics Friday at a press conference. The Campaign for Fearless Champions aims to raise $185 million to enhance all 17 sports in Texas Tech athletics.
The most significant part of the campaign is to make renovations to the south side of the stadium and athletic complex. TTU said they will take away the current office building at the south endzone and replace it with a 3-story structure that includes: new club seating and more suites as well as a hall of fame.
The plan is to also build new indoor practice facilities for football and track. There are 25 facility projects total, some major, like the football stadium, and some minor like adding new video boards to the soccer complex.
Kirby Hocutt said Friday during the press conference they already have $75 million promised from private donors.
Texastech.com lists the campaigns mission to: enhance athletic facilities, invest in the athletic scholarship endowment, grow the Leadership Academy and provide for the future of Texas Tech athletics.
