Texas Tech Wins Coral Gables Regional

The Texas Tech baseball team shut out Third-Ranked Miami 4-0 to win the NCAA Coral Gables Regional championship game. Junior pitcher Cameron Smith threw a complete game shutout to allow the Red Raiders to win their 43rd game of the season and win its first NCAA Regional Tournament.

Texas Tech is expected to host the Super Regional round against the College of Charleston later this week, after the Cougars won the Gainesville Region.

Shortstop Tim Proudfoot had two hit and scored twice, while outfielder Zach Davis knocked in two runs for the Red Raiders.

The official NCAA announcement on the Super Regional pairings along with ticket information is expected to take place Tuesday morning.
