LUBBOCK, TX - A day after Texas Tech snagged a #3 seed, playing against Stephen F. Austin in the Dallas regional on Thursday, fans excitement continued to grow and ticket sales spiked.
Texas Tech Athletics said they hope to see a lot of fans make the short trip to the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
"I think our fans are going to turn out in full force on Thursday and hopefully again on Saturday, and really own that arena, because it's a huge stronghold for us," Senior Associate Athletic Director Robert Giovannetti said. "I think we'll have a home court advantage."
Texas Tech has already sold out of the 450 tickets they were allotted, so they are referring fans to their partner Vivid Seats and other sellers.
Vivid Seats said, after Selection Sunday, ticket sales for the game saw a 15% increase, making it one of the most popular games. They said the median amount for a ticket was $150.
"The people at the American Airlines Center have told us our game is the hot ticket right now," Giovannetti said. "They expect it to be the biggest ticket [at the venue], so what I would just tell people is to go look and price them out. From what I've been told, there are still some reasonably priced tickets you can get for the event."
He added, they want the stands filled with Red Raider fans for the game.
