LUBBOCK, TX -- Sharply dressed Marines stood out amongst the Black Friday crowds as they kicked off their annual Toys for Tots holiday toy drive at the South Plains Mall.

"We've got a lot of donations so far, and it's only the 5th hour, so really excited about that," says first year participant Lance Corporal Zach Edwards.

Toys for Tots has been a Marine Corps tradition for more than 60 years. In those six decades, the program has delivered more than 400 million toys to underprivileged kids.

You can drop off a new, unwrapped toy at the Toys for Tots booth between now and Christmas Eve. Your donation will be sure to brighten the Christmas of a child right here in the South Plains.

"It's got that hometown feel, that you're actually giving back to your community," Edwards says. "Not necessarily just kids, but kids that you might know. Families that you might know."
