LUBBOCK,TX- Winds blowing 30-40 miles per hour, gusts up to 55.

This is what South Plains residents have been dealing with for the last three days.

While the dusts gets in our hair, eyes and ears, tangling hair and misplacing hats, it is also disturbing construction projects.

Roadways are littered with cones, signs and blockades.

Drivers have been seen getting out of their cars and moving such items just to get through.

Dianah Ascencio with TX DOT said her crews are working to fix the problem but they need a little help from motorists.

"We are trying to clean up and make sure all of the debris that is blowing into our construction sites trying to keep those clean," Ascencio said. "We do want to remind motorists that even though some of the cones and barrels may look like they are missing from the construction site, it is still an active work site, and they still need to drive with caution."
