"For us, not to be at that time in the illness, to be at more of a point where Alexa could just go and have fun and just not worry about it anything for a week, it's absolutely a great blessing and great timing," Brooks Jennings, Alexa's dad, said.
For 5-year-old Alexa, just being there, surrounded by strangers, was an accomplishment.
"The last four years has been treatments and has been, don't let her go out in public, protect her immune system, keep her in the house. It's been a really taxing four years to live like that," Becky Jennings, Alexa's mom, said.
