LUBBOCK, TX - For two weeks, students at one Frenship middle school gave it all they had to raise money for Make-A-Wish.
Heritage Middle School raised $4,084.81.
Although that's a lot of money, eighth grader Carson Echols said they had their sights set even higher.
"We got about half our goal. $8,000 is a lot of money, so we're pretty happy with $4,000," he said.
Echols, and other classmates, helped organize events like paid dress up days and a student vs. teacher basketball game to raise the money.
In early April, they presented Make-A-Wish with the check.
"We do this to help them get money to do something that they've been wishing and get away from all that treatment and stuff for their struggles," Echols said.
"I know this is a really big deal and it's something I would love to give someone. It just feels good," student Molly Smith added.
The average wish costs about $8,000.
