LUBBOCK, TX -- A local steakhouse is giving back.

Las Brisas Southwest Steakhouse has partnered with Make-A-Wish to help raise money to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

"There's so many young families out there in West Texas that they have a child that becomes sick and the medical bills and what it goes through to get them well," Kendall Howard, owner of Las Brisas, explained.

Howard also sits on Make-A-Wish's Texas Plains South Regional Council.

The Las Brisas Summer Golf Classic will be Monday, June 23rd at Meadowbrook Golf Course.

Lunch is at noon and the clubs will start swinging at 1:30.

There will also be a raffle and auction at the event.

"The nice thing about it being Monday afternoon, you can go in (to work), check your email and then come out and play some golf," Samantha Spitzer said.

Spitzer is the chair of the tournament.

The average wish costs $8,000.

Las Brisas hopes to raise enough money to grant at least two.

"I'm half way to my goal so I need to fill up and be able to grant those wishes," Spitzer added.

A team is $500.

There are also sponsorship opportunities available.

To register, go to Las Brisas at 4701 112th Street or call them at (806) 687-6050.
