LUBBOCK, TX -- On Wednesday Bob Mills Furniture presented four young ladies from O.L. Slaton Middle School with scholarship money as part of a jingle-writing contest. Eighth graders were invited to write a jingle for the business, and the winner would receive $1,500. However, if used in a Bob Mills Furniture commercial the winning jingle writer would be awarded $2,500.

A written statement said, “Although it has not yet been decided if the winning jingle will be used in a commercial, Bob Mills also elected to give the full $2,500 to the contest winner.”

Not only that, but Bob Mills awarded scholarship money to three others.

Paige Allyzai Flores-Moreno won a $2,500 scholarship. Monica Villegas, Cydney Raeanne Arana, and Mauline Rene Swain were awarded $500 each.

The written statement said, “All scholarships will be placed into a higher education fund for the students to use when they turn 18-years-old to further their learning.”
