LUBBOCK, TX--- Prom season is here for many high schoolers. At Brownfield High School today, a different kind of prom was held for special needs students, put on by their peers to have the time of their life.

Five school districts from across the area came together for the prom dance. There was music, food and dancing for everyone. Students even got to take their picture with a 50's themed backdrop.

Special Education Director Ben Runyan says he enjoys seeing all the students getting involved serving each other.

"It makes me feel really good because they're coming out here with a servant's heart and that's real important. And they get an opportunity to expand something that they're really passionate about."
Dance is organized and put on by the Brownfield High School Student Council. This is the second year that Brownfield has hosted prom. They hope that next year more schools will get involved and host.
