LUBBOCK, TX--- The Lubbock Transit advisory Board met Friday to discuss possible cuts to CitiBus budget that would result in cutting routes in West Lubbock.

Those possible changes would take place this fall. The plan would modify bus stops along 19th street near Covenant and along 34th street.
The Transit Advisory Board voted against the recomendations to stop services in those areas for fear it would effect more than 100 businesses in addition to residents who live in the area.
"I dont think Citibus was at all saying hey we recomend reducing routes or eliminating routes," says Jay Jacobus, Chairman of the Transit Advisory Board. "I think the recomendation was just to show everything and show if we did have to go off - or keep services the same as they are today that there's going to be an additional cost."

The final decision will still need to go through city council on whether or not those stops will be cut later this month.
