City Council Votes To Approve Raises For City Secretary, City Manager, Interim City Attorney

LUBBOCK, TX -- The Lubbock City Council voted Thursday night to give raises to the City Secretary, the City Manager, and the Interim City Attorney.

These were not unanimous votes by the City Council.

The City Secretary, Becky Garza, will have her pay now at $135,000. The vote Thursday made her pay only retroactive February 1st, 2014.
The vote passed 5-2, with Mayor Glen Robertson and Councilman Todd Klein voting against it.

The City Manager will see his pay increase to $235,000, retroactive February 1st, 2014. The vote for his increase passed 6-1, with Councilman Klein voting against it.

The Interim City Attorney, Mitch Satterwhite, will see his salary increase. His was a part of the memorandum of understanding that was voted on, and it was voted on it two parts, and while both parts passed with separate votes,the entire thing passed.
