LUBBOCK, TX -- The family of 65 year old Manuel Sierra said they are still looking for answers after he died Sunday. Sierra had been injured in a fight at the Texas Lounge a week earlier according to Lubbock Police.
Lubbock Police said they were originally called to the Texas Lounge at 1011 23rd Street on July 6th around 11:35 p.m. The release from Lubbock Police said officers responded to a fight inside the bar, where they found Sierra lying unconscious on the ground. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Sierra's family said they were told he died Sunday, July 13th. Police said they are waiting on an autopsy to be done.
The family said he was a hard working man, and one who did what he could to help his family out. They just want someone to come forward with answers.
"I can believe that my uncle is in heaven, because he was a good guy," his niece, Jennifer Sierra said.
"He had a heart to help people, he, you know, if he didn't even know them, he was just always trying to help somebody," Jennifer said.
Sierra's sister, Paula Trevino, said they know he is now, at least, in peace. There's nothing we can do, the doctors tried to do everything they could but the injury was real, real bad," she said.
Currently, police said they do not have any suspects identified, and are asking anyone with information to call the Crime Line at 741-1000.
