LUBBOCK, TX - The High Point Village is a unique place where individuals with intellectual disabilities can reach their full potential. They are gearing up to start its afternoon programs, but like other schools in the area, they need supplies.
They are asking the community to help in stocking classrooms full of supplies. They need normal school supplies such as pencils, pens, markers, glue sticks and paint.
It is easy to purchase these supplies for the High Point Village. They have set up an Amazon Wish List and you can find the wish list on their website at www.highpointvillage.org, under the get involved tab.
The High Point Village is a nonprofit and operates off of donations from the community. They do not receive any federal or state funding. Communications Coordinator, Marissa Trevino said they rely on the community's help to continue to enhance the lives of every villager that walks through their doors.
"The supplies mean that we will get to provide those enriching activities," Trevino said. "They mean we can do things with our villagers that mean something and we will be able to provide them with new skill sets."
High Point Village is also enrolling for their afternoon programs which will start on Sept. 11. They offer classes like cooking, sports and fun, crafts, knitting and so much more. Trevino said the classes fill up quickly.
"All of the popular and fun classes fill up quickly, so if you want to be in them you have to enroll now," Trevino said.
To enroll in the classes, head to www.highpointvillage.org and find more information there.
