WOLFFORTH, TX - Staff Sergeant Logan Melgar returned home from deployment for the last time while serving in the U.S. Army. The details of his death have not been released but his family is back in Wolfforth to celebrate his life with his old school, Frenship High.
Melgar graduated high school in 2001 and quickly became was a decorated soldier. He pursued his dream to become a Green Beret and a member of Special Forces Group.
Frenship ISD said they want to honor his service during their big game to remind the community, "Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger".
The memorial service will take place during their 2017 football homecoming game on October 6. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and this event will take place between the 1st and 2nd quarters.
