(LUBBOCK) -- A Boeing 787 Dreamliner spent the night at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.

The new mid-size jet arrived Thursday from Midland, and left Lubbock before noon, Friday. Lubbock was just a pit-stop on its journey home.

The plane, in Boeing colors and not carrying passengers, arrived at Boeing International in Seattle, Washington, just three hours later.

The 787 Dreamliner, in the news for battery problems that grounded the fleet, is Boeing's replacement for the 767. Although the Dreamliner is larger that the common 737, the Dreamliner is smaller than it's big brother, the 777.
