LUBBOCK, TX-- Beef prices have gone up by $4 per pound. These prices have affected Fourth of July cook out plans.

According to United Supermarkets, two days before July 4th is the day to purchase beef.

"The sooner you get here [to the supermarket] the better and that's not only true for beef, because it's a big cook out weekend across the board," said Eddie Owens, Director of Communications for United Family.

Despite the price increase, cook outs will save consumers more money rather than going out to eat at a restaurant.
