Start Something Saturday-- Michael Needs a "Big Brother"
LUBBOCK, TX--- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock has a huge need for 'big brothers' to come along and be there for one of more than 100 boys without someone to hang out with.
So today we're starting something, we got to meet Michael, one of those boys who's waiting for a 'big brother'.
He says next month is his 13th birthday and it would be the best birthday gift.
Michael has been waiting for a 'big brother' from Big Brothers Big Sisters since 2011.
This 12 year old Mackenzie Middle School boy does more than sing in varisity chior.
He's also pretty smart, taking advanced placement classes while he's only in seventh grade..
"Cause I'll read books about science-- cause its my favorite subject and math... Either-- I was going to be a doctor or a lawyer."
But when Michael's not hitting the books, he can be found playing games or bugging his sisters.
"My sister falls and i push her and i'm always in trouble."
He lives in a house with his mom and two sisters-- but he could use some guy time.
"So it became real hard-- to be a man and function with women."
"I'm not the best but i'm pretty good as most players go."
He showed us a thing or two about playing video games.
While we were not the best at playing the games with him-- Michael could use someone who is-- to hang out with and be his self.
"Just someone that's willing to have a good time and have fun...
I mean i'm just myself i just want to be myself all the time."
