LUBBOCK, TX - A body was found in South Lubbock early Friday morning. Lubbock Police are investigating this as a suspicious death case. The person was found at the 1300 block of 65th Street and according to police, the victim was in an argument with a group of people before he died.
Neighbors are fed up and said this isn't the first time this kind of incident has happened in their neighborhood.
"No one should have to wake up to this," said a concerned neighbor who wished keep her name anonymous. "I don't wish this on my worst enemy because it's a horrible feeling, it's a hard pill to swallow."
She said she got a text message early this morning telling her to come outside. When she looked out her window, she couldn't believe it happened ten feet from her door.
"When you walk outside, and you're experiencing a body just laying there lifeless, what do you do?" she said.
Neighbors said this incident has made them concerned for their families safety.
"You're discovering bodies and blood everywhere and people not being able to know what's going on in their neighborhood is scary," she said. "Not only me but my son has to live here. Y'all shooting and stabbing like there are not kids around,"
Kids live in most houses on the block. She said that this morning, they were all told to stay inside.
"It's just a sad situation. Having kids around and they come outside," she said. "To discover a body and your whole street is blocked off, that's a sad situation to be in. It really is horrific. It's happening multiple times. This is not the first murder, we're not new to this."
And although she said she wishes she could move, that's not always an option for the people who live on this block.
"We don't want to be on 65th. Our circumstances allowed us to be over here. The fact that we're trying to make the best of our situation, you're making it very hard for us," she said.
