Sergent Bryan Witt said emergency crews responded to FM 40 and Co. Road 3300 just after 6 Wednesday evening to find a car on its top and two teenagers ejected from the vehicle.
Neither teen had been wearing a seat belt.
"The combination of speed plus not wearing their seat belts during the rollover increased their injuries which caused them to be transported to the hospital," said Witt.
At least one was transported by Aerocare. Amazingly, the teens only suffered minor injuries and have both since been released.
Now, they're both facing consequences.
"The driver will be cited for failure to control speed and also for not wearing a seat belt," said Witt. "The passenger will receive a citation for not wearing his seat belt."
Witt is now reminding students, and everyone for that matter, to slow down on county roads.
"Some of these roadways are narrow, they don't have any shoulders," said Witt. "Some of these roads just have enough room for 2 vehicles to pass and you don't have much room for error."
The speed limit on most county roads is 60 unless otherwise marked.
