LUBBOCK,TX -- The Door Christian Fellowship has moved their services from their church location on 34th street to a big, blue and yellow tent the southeast corner of Elmore Park, off the South Loop and Peoria.
Pastor Anthony Saavedra said his church wanted to reach more people with their message of healing, so they adopted the spot for their revival. The event will take place every night until Thursday July 24th, at 7 p.m.
"We have seen many miracles," Pastor Saavedra said. "Last night we saw a lady who had a broken arm healed by the power of God. So that is what we believe, that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and he is still able to heal today."
Pastor Saavedra said he loves the idea of bringing church to the outdoors, and hopes to do it again next year, even though it was a little stressful getting approval from the city.
"A lot of work went into it," Pastor Saavedra said. "We have wonderful folks that helped us. You have to have the city mark the sprinkler systems, have to get signatures for a noise permit, make sure the fire marshal is aware of what we are doing and have our exits, everything safety. So a lot of work going into it and our folks have met the challenge."
