LUBBOCK, TX -- After the Texas Tech baseball team beat College of Charleston 1-0 Sunday afternoon, fans could be heard shouting 'Omaha' as they left the ballpark.
This was a historic moment for Texas Tech, and many fans said they were proud to be in the stadium as Tech got the win.
Bo Garza was there tailgating with friends before heading into the game. He said he watched Saturday's game from home, and was excited to be in the ballpark Sunday.
Before the game, Garza made a prediction that came true.
"I think they're going to come off of a pretty upbeat game yesterday, I mean it could have gone either way, and it ended up the Red Raider's way." Garza said. "I think it's just going to continue the same way, and I think we'll be going to the World Series."
There was a bit of a delay before the game because of the storms moving through the area, but the late start didn't put a damper on the fans.
"Once the game got started, it was high energy the whole time," Phil DeLorimiere said.
"I feel like there was a lot of energy in the stands and it was just great to be part of, I guess, Texas Tech baseball history," Benjamin Rosas said.
