LUBBOCK, TX- Eddie Owens with Market Street said that the cost of Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper than it has been in 3 years.

According to the Texas Farm Bureau, the average cost is $49.04 for a family of 10.

"That's actually the lowest since 2010," said Owens.

Owens said prices vary depending on which route you take making the dinner.

"Cost versus convenience is the first decision you have to make."

At Market Street they offer the option of buying your entire meal already cooked and ready to heat up on Thanksgiving Day.

However, Owens said that you pay extra for putting in less work.

"If you're going for convenience you're going to have to pay a little more when you get those pre-prepared items at the store that are frozen and ready to eat after thawing."

And though Owens said a lot of leftovers may be a sign you bought too much food, he said they are worth it.

"In the long run if you've got leftovers to make several more meals out of, the cost is actually pretty economical."
