LUBBOCK, TX -- With just a click of your mouse, you can help the Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding Center in a big way. The center has a chance to win a new therapy horse as part of an online competition, but the center needs votes on Facebook.

The center provides hippo therapy and therapeutic riding classes for children and adults with disabilities. They currently have six therapy horses and can accommodate 60 riders per week. Program Director Tangi Irwin says with another horse they could work with 20-30 more riders per week.

Irwin says she's seen firsthand how much of a difference this therapy can make.

"You can just see it in their eyes and on their face. They don’t know that it's therapy, therapeutic riding or hippo therapy. They just enjoy riding the horse. And we are just really lucky to be a part of their lives and be able to provide this type of service to them where they get to come out and have a little bit of fun for 30 minutes or an hour," said Irwin.

To vote, visit The Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding Center Facebook page.
