LUBBOCK,TX - Lubbock County Sheriff's Office said all six dogs from the attack Tuesday morning near New Deal are seized and the victim is now on the road to recovery.
A local man was searching for a neighbor's dog near FM 1729 and County Road 2700 when a pack of dogs attacked him.
Construction workers in the area heard his screams and came to help him fight off the dogs.
The victim was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Sheriff deputies said that officials are in contact with the owner during this case. They added that now all animals are seized and are being held with Animal Control until a court date is set for a dangerous animal hearing.
There a judge will decide if these dogs are a threat to the community. The outcome could result in euthanization or criminal charges against the owner.
The family of the victim told EverythingLubbock.com that he is expected to be released from University Medical Center sometime Wednesday evening.
