Davis Webb was the youngest counselor, ever at Trent Dilfer’s Elite 11 Quarterback camp this summer, and it’s Dilfer’s words that drive him to soak up the game.
Dilfer told Webb he would be ‘The Next Tom Brady’ and from then on Webb has tried to model himself after the All-Pro.
“I've been talking about it all the time, you know ever since Trent Dilfer told me I was going to be the next Tom Brady,” Webb said, “I've really kind of watched him, and watched every YouTube video on him.”
Luckily for Webb, his head coach, Kliff Kingsbury, is friends and former teammates with Brady and has passed on some of the things that have made Brady great, to Webb.
“He said he'd talked to Tom Brady about me whenever he went to the Preakness, Webb said, “And that's pretty cool to hear about that, and just talking to Coach Kingsbury about how hard he works, and you know he's the first guy in the building and the last guys to leave. Everything you hear about him on TV or twitter is really true, and that's what I'm trying to do."
Webb still has a ways to go before being the next Tom Brady, but the pieces are certainly in place for him to aspire to that goal every day.
