LUBBOCK, TX - Amado Miranda, 68, of Sugar Land was found guilty by a jury in Lubbock Thursday morning on two counts of indecency with a child.
He was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
A police report in Lubbock was filed in December 2004 but the allegations dated back to the year 2000. His bond was revoked in 2009 for failing to contact his attorney every week as ordered by the court. Miranda was located and arrested for the bond revocation in 2016.
The victim is now in her mid-20’s. Miranda is the former pastor at Agape Church in Lubbock.
The same jury that convicted Miranda chose his punishment.
His jail booking sheet says in addition to the indecency charge, he is also held for the Border Patrol.
